StatusFix monitors websites and does search visibility work for local service businesses. That means we hold information about our clients, about their customers' interactions with their sites, and about people who contact us. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.

Who we are

DomainBlender (domainblender.com) is a free tool operated by StatusFix. It has its own privacy policy covering that tool. This policy covers statusfix.com and StatusFix services.

What we collect

If you just visit the site

Standard server logs handled by our host, Cloudflare — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. These are used for security and to keep the site running. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on statusfix.com.

If you submit a form

We ask for explicit consent before we email you, and we keep a record of it. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to us.

If you become a client

Delivering the service requires more:

Business details — company name, service address, phone, service areas, hours.
Billing information — handled by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and are stored by Stripe, not by us. We see only what's needed to manage the subscription: the plan, the payment status, and the last four digits.
Access to your own accounts — with your permission, we connect to services you already own, such as Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, and your website's hosting or CMS, so we can do the work. That access is used solely to perform the service and can be revoked by you at any time from within those accounts.
Performance data — uptime checks, response times, ranking positions, and published content records. This is what populates your dashboard.

Call tracking and recording

Some plans include tracked phone numbers, and calls to those numbers may be recorded. Where recording is active, callers are notified at the start of the call. Recordings and call metadata are used to show clients which marketing produced which calls, and to resolve disputes. If you are a client using tracked numbers, you are responsible for any additional notice your own jurisdiction or industry requires.

Text messages

We do not send marketing text messages on the basis of the email consent described above. Email consent covers email only. If we introduce SMS, it will require a separate, explicit opt-in that says so plainly, and you will be able to stop it by replying STOP.

How we use information

To provide, maintain, and improve the monitoring and visibility services you've asked for
To reply to enquiries and provide support
To process payments and manage subscriptions
To send service messages — outage alerts, billing notices, report deliveries
To send marketing email, only where you have consented, and only until you unsubscribe
To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become clients — up to 24 months, then deleted.
Client records — for the life of the engagement, then up to 7 years where needed for tax and accounting.
Call recordings — [RETENTION PERIOD — e.g. 12 months], then deleted.
Consent records — kept as long as we hold the contact, since they are the proof of permission.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

Tell you what information we hold about you
Correct anything inaccurate
Delete your information, where we're not legally required to keep it
Stop sending you marketing email

Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of sale or targeted advertising — we don't do either of those last two. Residents of California, the EU, and the UK have comparable rights under their own laws. Email privacy@statusfix.com and we'll respond within the period the applicable law requires. We may need to verify your identity first.

Cookies

statusfix.com uses only cookies that are strictly necessary — security and, where you have an account, keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no tracking to opt out of.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and held with the providers listed above. Access credentials are restricted to those who need them. No system is perfectly secure, and we don't claim otherwise — but if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Children

StatusFix is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top and, for changes that affect how we handle information we already hold, notify clients by email.
